Two Factor Authentication

What is Two Factor Authentication?

Two Factor Authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security used to make sure that people trying to gain access to an online account are who they say they are. First, a user will enter their username and a password. Then, instead of immediately gaining access, they will be required to enter a code that is generated by a companion app designed to produce time limited One Time Passwords (OTP).

What do I need before I setup TFA?

You will need an authenticator app installed on your mobile device.

Here are some of the most popular of these?

Google Authenticator : Android  iOS

Authy : Android  iOS

FreeOTP : Android  iOS

Lastpass Authenticator : Android  iOS

Microsoft Authenticator : Android  iOS

How do I setup TFA?

To setup TFA, simply navigate to your Profile page, scroll to the bottom and click 'Enable Two Factor'.

Just follow the instructions there using the authenticator app of your choice.

You will need to scan the QR code and enter a one-time password generated from the app to complete the initial setup. After TFA is setup, you'll be asked for an OTP every time you login as an extra step after you enter your username & password.
