General Settings for Files

You can set global preferences for your files. Navigate to Files, then click on the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

This will bring out a window with options for your Files.

File Sharing Capabilities

You can specify who will receive a notification when a file is uploaded by a Contact. When a file is uploaded to a Contact's Shared folder or to a general Shared Folder, you can set a prompt to ask if you would like to send a notification. Selecting Always Send or Never Send will remove the prompt window.

File Attachment Settings

You can specify which Files (if any) will be attached to the email notification triggered by a File upload. When you or a Contact uploads a file to a Shared Folder, Project Files or Client Files you can enable these files to be automatically attached to the Email Notification. Email notifications must be enabled to send for these file attachment settings to take effect.

File Management Settings

For both the Client and the Prospect you can configure permissions for modifying Files and Folders.

Folder Color and Icon Color

The folders in your Files Toolkit are painted in your brand color, so they match the rest of your Portal without you doing anything. Two pickers at the bottom of File Settings let you take that further.

Folder Color: The color every folder is painted in. It starts on your Primary Color and follows your theme automatically, so leave it alone and your folders keep up with any rebrand. Pick a color here to break that link, or click Use brand color to restore it.

Icon Color: The color of the pictogram drawn on each folder. It starts derived from the Folder Color so that it stays legible, and Use default color puts it back. If you choose a color that would be hard to read against the folder behind it, you will see a gentle warning, but you can still save it.

As you pick a color, the folders behind the window repaint so you can see the result before you commit. Save keeps what you previewed, and Cancel puts the saved colors back. The colors apply to every folder in Files, in Light Mode, Dark Mode and Mr. Clean alike.

TIP: A white, near-white or gray brand color would leave folders you could barely see, so those get a neutral gray folder instead. Choose a Folder Color here if you want something else.
