BLOCKS: Upload Block
Upload Block
The Upload Block enables easy uploading of files to pre-determined file locations. You can place it directly on a Dashboard, Portal Page, or Public Page so users can send you files without needing to navigate away to another area, and every uploaded file is filed neatly into the location you choose.

What This Block Is Used For
You can use this block anywhere you need to collect files from users. It works well for both internal teams and external users, and helps keep everything organised in one place.
- Collect onboarding documents or intake paperwork
- Allow users to submit signed agreements or forms
- Gather images, receipts, or supporting files
- Replace email attachments with organised, filed uploads
What Users Will See
When users access the page, they will see the upload area displayed directly within the content, along with the Title, Subtitle, and Description you have set. The experience is designed to be simple and intuitive, even for non-technical users.

- The Title, Subtitle, and Description, guiding the user on what to upload
- An area to select and upload their files from their device
- The option to upload more than one file at a time, when you have enabled it
- Once uploaded, each file is automatically stored in the location you configured, ready for you to review and manage.
How to Add This Block
1 Open the Content Block Editor

2 Click the Add Block button
3 Select Upload Block from the list.

Once added, the block will be visible on your page and ready for configuration.
How to Configure the Block
After adding the block, open the Block Options tab. You can create a Title, Subtitle, and Description for each Upload Block, all of which will be visible on the Target's Dashboard. Toggle the button on if you want to allow multiple files to be uploaded.

Next, select the Upload Location. This decides where every uploaded file will be filed. There are three options to choose from.

- User-Specific Dynamic Path. Files are placed into the user's own Folders.
- Use Existing Global File Cabinet. Files are placed into a Global File Cabinet you have already created.
- Create New Global File Cabinet. Set up a brand new Global File Cabinet and file uploads there.
Your Global File Cabinets also live at Files > Global File Cabinets, where you can create, rename and delete them without opening a Block. A cabinet made either way appears in both places. CLICK HERE to learn about Global File Cabinets.
User-Specific Dynamic Path

If you want the uploaded file to be placed in the user's own Folders, select User-Specific Dynamic Path and choose the Parent Folder. You can choose from Uploaded by, Private Files, or the Target File Cabinet. You can then set a Destination Folder Path, and switch on Create a Folder with Date/Time Stamp if you would like each upload kept in its own dated folder.
TIP: If you have a specific Folder you would like the file to be uploaded to, you can add the Destination Folder Path, meaning you add the Folder Name. After the '/' in the Destination Folder Path, just add the Folder Name. The file will be automatically added into an existing Folder of the same name, or it will create a new Folder if one is not present.
Global File Cabinet

You also have the option to add the file upload to your Organisation's Global File Cabinet.
To create a New Global File Cabinet, select Create New Global File Cabinet, add the Folder Name, and click Create.
To use an Existing Global File Cabinet, select Use Existing Global File Cabinet, then click the down arrow to reveal your existing folders and choose one. You can also set a Destination Folder Path.
Each time files are uploaded to a Global File Cabinet, a new Folder is created and uniquely named.
Best Practices
To ensure the best experience for your users, and to keep your files easy to find, it helps to plan your upload location before going live.
- Use a clear Title and Description so users know exactly what to upload
- Choose your upload location carefully so files land where you expect them
- Turn on the Date/Time Stamp option when you expect frequent uploads, to keep folders tidy
- Only display the block to the appropriate audience
- Test an upload yourself before making the page live
