BLOCKS: Welcome Block
Welcome Block
The Welcome Block allows you to display a personalised welcome message directly on a Dashboard, Portal Page. It dynamically pulls in the logged-in user's first name to create a greeting that feels personal and professional, helping users feel at home as soon as they access the Portal.

What This Block Is Used For
The Welcome Block is ideal for setting the tone of a page and creating a warm, professional first impression. It works well on both client-facing portals and internal team dashboards.
- Greet clients by name when they log into their portal.
- Set a welcoming tone on onboarding pages.
- Provide a personalised introduction to a Dashboard.
- Reinforce your brand voice with a consistent, friendly greeting.
- Pair with other blocks to guide users through what to do next.
What Users Will See
When users access the page, they will see a personalised greeting that includes their first name, along with any supporting message or subtitle you have configured. The block is clean and unobtrusive, sitting naturally at the top of a page without overwhelming the other content.

- A personalised greeting such as "Welcome, Sarah" displayed prominently on the page
- An optional subtitle or supporting message beneath the greeting
- A consistent, polished appearance that matches the overall page design
TIP: The Welcome Block uses the logged-in user's first name automatically. There is no need to manually personalise the message for each user, making it a powerful tool for accounts with many clients.
How to Add This Block
1. Open the Content Block Editor on your Dashboard.
2. Click the Add Block button.

3. Select Welcome Block from the list of available blocks.

Once added, the block will appear on your page and be ready for configuration.
How to Configure the Block
After adding the block, click on it to open the configuration options. You will be able to customise how the greeting appears to your users.

- Welcome Image: Add your image. You can add an image from the default images or you can click the dropdown to upload an image of your own choice.
- Full Width: Click this toggle if you would like the welcome block to responsively resize to fill the full width of the column.
- Width: Enter size in pixels or % (Example: 200 or 90%). Leave empty to use original size (this is not required if using the Full Width toggle option)
- Height: Enter size in pixels or % (Example: 200 or 90%). Leave empty to use original size.
- Welcome Message:
- Greeting Prefix - Choose or edit the text that appears before the user's name, for example "Welcome" or "Hello". This allows you to match the tone of your brand.
- Subtitle or Supporting Message - Add an optional line of text beneath the greeting to provide context, a short instruction, or an encouraging message for the user.
You can also add Styling and Access permissions by clicking the tabs on the left.
Once you are happy with the configuration, click Save to apply your changes. The block will immediately display the personalised greeting to any logged-in user who accesses the page.
IMPORTANT: The Welcome Block pulls the first name from the logged-in user's profile. If a user's first name is not set in their profile, the greeting may display incompletely. Encourage users to keep their profile information up to date.
Best Practices
To make the most of the Welcome Block and ensure it enhances the user experience, keep the following in mind.
- Place the Welcome Block at the very top of the page so it is the first thing users see when they log in.
- Keep the subtitle short and purposeful. Use it to direct users to what they should do next rather than filling it with general information.
- Match the greeting style to your brand voice. A formal business may prefer "Welcome" while a more casual brand might use "Hi" or "Hello".
- Combine the Welcome Block with an Announcement Block or a quick links section to give users a complete, guided landing experience.
- Review the subtitle text periodically to ensure it remains relevant and accurate for your users.
TIP: The Welcome Block works especially well as the opening block on a client portal homepage. Pairing it with a brief subtitle such as "Here is everything you need in one place" immediately reassures clients and sets a positive tone for their session.
