BLOCKS: Accordion Block
What is the Accordion Block?
The Accordion Block is a container block for the Content Block Editor: a stack of collapsible sections, each with its own title bar and its own full canvas. A closed section shows only its title bar, and opening it reveals the content in place. It turns what used to be six thin Portal Pages into six sections on one page, and each section can be shown to a different audience, so one page can quietly serve several groups of people.
You can add it everywhere the Content Block Editor runs: Portal Pages, Dashboards, Public Pages, Lessons, Proposals and Contracts. It is the one block type that is never offered in the email campaign editor, because an email cannot open and close anything.
How do I add an Accordion Block and build its sections?
- Add the block. In the Content Block Editor, open the block picker and choose Accordion Block. It arrives with three sections, already named Section 1, Section 2 and Section 3, which you can rename or clear.
- Keep a title on every section. A section needs a title to be shown to viewers. Clear the title and the section stays in your editor, flagged with a warning, but is left off the page for everyone else.
- Build a section's content. Each section is a full canvas, so add rows, columns and any blocks the editor offers. You build one section at a time: open a section to work on it, and the others show just their title bars.
- Add, duplicate, reorder or remove sections. Use Add Section to append a new one, Duplicate on a section's menu to copy it with all its content and settings, and drag a section's tab to reorder it. A counter shows how many sections you have used.

What settings does the Accordion have?
Open the block's settings to find Accordion Block Options. Down the left is an Accordion tab plus one tab per section, an Add Section button and a counter showing how many of the 100 sections you have used. A Live Preview on the right shows your changes as you make them. Every tab has its own General, Styling and Access panes.
The Accordion tab sets how the whole block behaves:
- Open Behavior: One at a Time, where opening a section closes the others, or Many at Once.
- Preset: Bordered (one outlined stack), Separated (individual cards) or Minimal (hairlines only). The presets differ in weight only, and the block inherits your Portal theme and dark mode, so there are no colour, border or font options to manage.
- Open Indicator: a chevron or a plus.
- Section Spacing: Compact, Comfortable or Spacious.
A new Accordion starts on One at a Time, Bordered, Chevron and Comfortable. Its Access pane, marked Whole Block, is the standard block audience setting.

Each section tab carries that section's Title, an optional Icon and Icon Color, an optional one-line Subtitle, an Open by Default switch, a Section Link, and its own Access pane.

TIP: If you set several sections to Open by Default while Open Behavior is One at a Time, the editor tells you that only the first of them will open.
How do I show a section to only some people?
Give a section its own Access settings on that section's tab, the same way you set a block's audience. A viewer outside a section's audience does not see its title bar at all: the section is simply absent, with no placeholder and nothing marked as restricted. This is how one page serves several audiences at once, for example a single onboarding page whose staff-only section is invisible to Clients.

Block-level Access, section-level Access and any nested block's Access all apply independently, and the server checks every section against the viewer each time one is fetched, so restricted content is never delivered to someone who should not see it.
How do I link someone straight to a section?
Use Copy link under Section Link on a section's tab. The link is your page address with a section marker added to the end, and it opens the page with that section open. Because the marker names the section itself, the link keeps working after you rename or reorder the section. A link to a section the viewer cannot see, to one that has been deleted, or to one with no title simply opens the page as usual, with no error.
TIP: Some pages have no single address of their own. There, Copy link copies just the marker and tells you to add it to the end of the page address yourself.
How does the Accordion behave on Contracts and in print?
On a Contract, every section ships open and inline, so the frozen record is complete for every reader and nothing has to be fetched later. For that same reason, a section with a limited audience is left out of the contract entirely. The editor warns you how many sections that affects before you generate it.
When someone prints a Portal Page from their browser, the sections that have loaded are opened for the printout and the page returns to normal afterwards. Because the platform fetches the remaining sections in the background shortly after the page loads, in practice they are all there by the time anyone prints.
IMPORTANT: One Accordion holds up to 100 sections, and Add Section and Duplicate stop there. The block picker inside an Accordion section does not offer the Accordion Block, so you cannot place one directly inside another.
