Zoom Integration for Appointments
What is Zoom?
Zoom is a cloud-based video communication app that lets you set up a virtual "meeting room" which you can use for conferences, webinars, and other collaborative usages.
You can set up a Zoom integration that allows you to automatically create a Zoom meeting along with a booked appointment.
You'll need to create a Zoom account in order to utilize the integration, but an account is not required for the Contact.
What is My Portal App?
My Portal App is the name of our Integrations Microservice!
In an effort to be sure the setup for all our Integrations is as White Label as possible, we engineered an entirely secure microservice architecture that works in the background to let us show the generic "My Portal App" integration during the authentication phase, but everything is connected to the platform via the integration microservice.
So, whenever you see My Portal App, just know that it's completely secure and can be trusted.
It's just another way that we go ABOVE & BEYOND to protect your brand!
How do I integrate Zoom into my account?
Navigate to Flyout Menu > Integrations.
In the Zoom section click the Connect Zoom account button.
Sign in with your Zoom credentials.
Review the required permissions and click the Authorize button.
You'll be redirected back to Integrations. The connected user will now be displayed with a Disconnect button in case you would like to disable the integration.
How do I set up my Zoom integration for meetings?
In order to utilize the Zoom integration, you'll need to have at least one Appointment Type set up.
CLICK HERE to learn about Appointment Types
Navigate to Calendar > Appointment Types.
Click Options (3 dots) beside the Appointment Type of your choice and select Auto-Create Meeting.
Under Choose Meeting Provider select Zoom from the dropdown menu.
Additional settings are also available before creation.
Enable join before host: Allow participants to join the meeting before the host joins or when the host cannot attend the meeting. If not enabled the participants will see the message "The meeting is waiting for the host to join" when attempting to join before the host is available.
Use Personal Meeting ID to create meetings: Use a special virtual meeting room that is always accessible with the same Meeting ID. Participants with this link can join at any time it is in use unless you have it configured to use the Waiting Room feature. Learn more about this feature in Zoom's documentation.
Start meeting without video: Disable video for all participants by default.
Click the Save button once you are finished and you're all set!
What does the Contact see?
When an Appointment is created an email notification is sent to both parties containing the Zoom link.
