CRM: What is a Target

What is a Target?

A Target can be anyone who is the intended audience of your objective.  For instance, your Target could be a CRM Company, Primary Contact, individual Contact or in some cases a staff member.

Where will I see reference to a Target?

You will see the word Target used throughout the platform which is intended to refer to the specific end user.

Custom Fields

Custom Fields enable you to add data to relevant areas of the platform.  Custom Fields can be create by going to Flyout>Content Settings>Manage Custom Fields

When creating the Custom Field you will add the usage which is the specific area you wish the Custom Field to be populated.  For instance, if you create a CRM Contact Custom Field it can only be completed by someone with Contact Profile. A CRM Contact Custom Field cannot be seen in the Company Profile and vice versa a Company Custom Field cannot be seen in a Contact Profile.

For this reason you also have the option to create Target Custom Fields

A CRM Target Custom Field is visible in both the CRM Company and CRM Contact profiles which enables you to add data into either profile type.

This ensures that regardless of who submits the Form (Company or Contact), the CRM Target Field information will be added into the correct CRM Profile.
